matwork class
During the matwork class you will learn about neutral postural alignment, breathing and engaging your deep local stabilising muscles. Each exercise is performed with concentration and control and target specific muscles. Over the weeks you will improve your posture, flexibility, mobility and strength.
As a beginner you will start with an initial free one 2 one, this involves completing a Health Form and discussing through your medical history and your goals. A postural assessment is also completed to identify areas that require attention and to help direct the exercises to those areas. At this session you will also learn how to correctly recruit your deep local stabilising muscles (deep core!) followed by specific exercises to benefit your posture and muscle balance. You will be given an exercise sheet to practice the recruitment of these deep muscles to do at home.
If you are coming at the recommendation of a practitioner (GP or Physiotherapist) it is recommended that you arrange several one 2 one sessions.
All equipment is provided you just need to wear comfortable clothing, we work in bare feet or socks if preferred.
